It is with much sadness that I’ve been asked to let our members and followers know that our wonderful Chairman, Jim Nuttall, passed away peacefully this morning, 12 July. Jim did so much for our group and indeed, the Broughton community as a whole. His devotion was evident even towards the end of his illness, as he continued to liaise with us on group matters behind the scenes right to the end. He will be truly missed by us all. On behalf of Broughton District History Group and our community, we send our deepest condolences to his wife Val and her family at this very sad time. Cari Pugh ~ on behalf of the BDHG Committee.

  1. Very sad to hear the news of Jim’s passing.
Just seen the notice today. Jim organised a couple of visits to us in the past. Oddly enough I hadn’t seen Russell Jones for some time until early July this year which would have been just before Jim’s death.
I came on to the site to see if you had a copy of Ron Morris’s verses sent to me from Canada recently. The published date by you is 1992.
    Best wishes

    1. Hi Phil, thank you for your kind words, Jim’s passing was a very sad loss to our group and we do miss him in lots of ways. I will ask our publications team to see if the verses book has been reprinted. Can you send me an email please so that I have your address to let you know the outcome. Thanks again, Cari editor.broughtonhistory@btinternet.com
